House

Okay, so I am talking with some friends and they all start talking about House. I was kind of left out. I know what House is and all that, I watched some episodes before. The thing that bothered me is that House, sucks! I have watched a few episodes (more like two) and the show did not work for me.

You know how some shows will just pull you in and get you all interested, then a few more episodes and you’re a fan?
Well House, did the exact opposite of what I mentioned. I don’t know what the problem is, everyone else seems to like it, it’s one of Fox’s most popular shows. You could say House comes in second place, first place going to American Idol as the most watched show in America.

I am guessing it could be the House himself, that weird Doctor is really annoying. He tries to be funny, but it just doesn’t work for him or me, although some House fans might say he’s hilarious. A few reasons I despise him are probably his limping and indirectness, I would prefer Grey’s Anatomy a hundred times, at least that show doesn’t bored you that much. Well, after a few minutes of hearing my friends talk excitedly about the show, I changed the subject. For the sake of the crowd I will try to give House another chance. Notice, I said try not will! Oh by the way there’s a new episode tonight!

Celebrity Apprentice Today!

Last Saturday, unfortunately I did not get a chance to watch Celebrity Apprentice. It’s great you really get to see how celebs deal with pressure. They also show their true side, or are they still acting?. This season’s (the 8th) celebrities seem somewhat interesting, I think they should include younger celebrities though. It comes on today at 8:00 pm on NBC. Here is a brief description of the show in case you haven’t seen it.

It’s a Reality show which originally began with would-be moguls braving a simulated corporate environment as Donald Trump pitted two teams against each other for the single grand prize of landing a $250,000 a year job with the Trump organization. The teams of contestants competed to complete specific assigments and one member of the losing team was fired after each defeat. Beginning with season 7, the show introduced its celebrity version, with Donald Trump bringing 16 celebrities to New York City. Dividing into teams, they compete in business tasks. Each week, the leader of the winning team takes home tens of thousands of dollars for their favorite charity while the losing team faces Trump in his boardroom. In the end, the last celebrity standing is crowned the Celebrity Apprentice and earns a $250,000 jackpot for the charity of their choice.

Law&Order: SVU

I really don’t like shows like these, Law&Order seem really boring for me. I would would have thrown a brick at you, if you made me watch it. I watched one episode and I never watched another one again. Now, that SVU came out I haven’t missed a show yet. I don’t know what it was that made me a Law&Order zombie. Could it be Olivia Benson who got me hooked on the show? She’s played by Mariska Hargitay, something about her makes her character excellent for the part. It’s not that I like her as in the like like thing, it’s how she handles the cases. She’s not like the male detectives who only care about solving the crime, she is more emotional about the victims.

SVU is the only one I like, the other I will watch here and then but it doesn’t catch my attention as much.

The last episode, in which a woman is abused by her husband and ends up being killed by him almost made me cry. It wasn’t the part were the other woman is killed but when her elderly neighbor reveals that she was abused by her husband as well. Except, she killed her husband before he killed her. Well, she made a new life after escaping prison 30 years ago. She was caught again due to a background check and given a trial for eluding prison. She confessed that she escaped to have an abortion, because she did not want to have her husband’s and rapist’s son. (Her husband had raped her before she killed him) at the end her new husband who she had lied to about who she was, left her for having an abortion and not telling/lying to him about her past. That was the part that almost made me cry, ALMOST! Okay!

Watchmen

I had never heard of this surprisingly, as I am always searching for new comics and stuff. It’s been out for sometime as well, anyway i was watching the movie trailer and I am definitely going to see it. After i did some research on Wikipedia, i realized it’s very geeky. An example is, the name of the blue dude in there is Doctor Manhattan, what?! He is also the only one that has powers, so basically the other “superheroes” aren’t really super.

I don’t think the movie sucks, if it’s based on an acclaimed comic, it should be great right? All the magazines and movie reviewers give big thumbs up. I will judge after I see it, myself. Anyway back to the comic story, if the heroes don’t have powers it might be a little dull. Take Heroes for example, the show is great although it got tamer this few seasons. Yet almost all the characters have some sort of power, what makes it dull at times is that they barely use them. So if we conclude that from Heores, we can conclude that the characters in Watchmen can get dull. I watch all the X men movies because of the super powers, I hate heroes like the Batman, he doesn’t have powers and uses tech do his job, which to me anyone could do. (as long as we have the tech of course)

The trailers are really great, I specially like the music in it. If you want to see a trailer search for them on YouTube or Hulu. Google search for it if you want as well. Judge for yourself, I usually don’t consider any movie a loss of my time and money, because everyone is interesting in their own way. I am happy as long as there is a super villain in there!
Enjoy the smiley face! Although I don’t get why they use it as their symbol? Anyone know? I don’t feel like searching for the answer! It sort of looks like the Wal-Mart rollback symbol, though!

The Office

Anyone watched the Show yesterday? I did! Here’s a brief summary on the show if you have never seen it before!

It’s based on the popular British series of the same name, this faster-paced American version follows the daily interactions of a group of idiosyncratic office employees at paper company Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch via a documentary film crew’s cameras.

Regional manager Michael (Steve Carell) thinks he’s the coolest, funniest, best boss ever - which, of course, makes him the uncoolest, most obnoxious and annoying boss as far as his staff are concerned. Salesman Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) has always loved receptionist Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) and loves sabotaging his cube-mate, the know-it-all Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson). Ryan Howard (B.J. Novak) started as a young, smart, self-possessed temp, but quickly figured out the real office politics despite Michael’s attempts to instill the official point-of-view, and gets himself a job at corporate HQ in New York.

The staff is rounded out by quiet Phyllis Lapin Vance (Phyllis Smith), beaten down by the working life Stanley Hudson (Leslie David Baker), office alcoholic Meredith Palmer (Kate Flannery), up-tight Angela Martin (Angela Kinsey), formerly closeted homosexual Oscar Martinez (Oscar Nunez), stocky and uncouth Kevin Malone (Brian Baumgartner), ambivalent kleptomaniac Creed Bratton (Creed Bratton), Sad Sack HR rep Toby Flenderson (Paul Lieberstein), persistently love-struck Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling), icy corporate manager turned Michael’s girlfriend Jan Levinson (Melora Hardin), former Stamford branch denizen and Cornell graduate Andy Bernard (Ed Helms), warehouse foreman Darryl Philbin (Craig Robinson), and Pam’s ex-fiancé Roy Anderson (David Denman).

Eleventh Hour

Eleventh Hour is the best show ever. It comes on CBS, on Thursdays at 10 o’clock Eastern time. It’s based on a British show, it’s very similar to the X files. The main characters are an FBI agent and a Scientist, who well work for the FBI, who else! Yesterdays, show was the most Sci-Fi episode ever! People were being shocked by anything that conducted electricity, lightning, electrical outlets and car batteries. It was caused by mutated engineered metal virus, very weird, the virus grafted on to human skin and used the metals in our bodies to grow. It was originally created to make micro batteries that could power cars or anything that needs energy but It somehow conserved energy, anyway it mutated and now grew on humans. Yesterday’s Presidential speech

Yesterday, i was kinda mad, i was waiting to watch “What would you do” on ABC. It’s a great show, they create different life scenarios and we get to watch how people react to it. Well, anyway i was waiting for it and then i find out Obama is having a speech. Of course, it had to be shown on all channels, don’t get me wrong i like to be aware of how this situation is doing and the progress being made, except i really wanted to see this week’s show. One scenario was on a little girl helping her mom steal, it was previewed on Good Morning America. I did not get to watch the entire show but after after the speech was over I managed to watch the little girl and mom scenario, i guess i will have to watch it on ABC’s website. The speech totally ruined my evening, i did not get to watch “scrubs” either! I don’t even like the show, well actually after a few episodes you start to like it. Although, i heard they are moving to Wednesdays, not sure if that’s today. The speech was good, i have to give him that but the speech held by the Gov. of Louisiana totally ruined everything. I have to say he did a good job, on the way it was delivered it was just the content that sucked. No one wants to hear a pessimist, specially if you complain and can’t do anything about. Besides, he’s probably going to take the money anyway so it was kind of Hypocritical!
